Vascular Access Specialist
Michael Decker is a vascular access board certified registered nurse in Virginia. Michael became a registered nurse, graduating with a BSN from Averett University in 2017. Michael began his nursing career in the progressive care unit at SOVAH Danville.
Michael is one of very few vascular access specialists with experience inserting hemodialysis catheters. He has a great deal of experience inserting centrally inserted central catheters and mid-thigh PICCs, in addition to the wealth of patients he has provided peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) and midlines. Michael has successfully inserted over 1,500 vascular access devices using the Modified Seldinger Technique.
Michael has experience with vascular access in many different settings including: acute care hospitals, long-term acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and residential settings.
Michael is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to the citizens of communities within the Piedmont region.
